This is a poster I made for an event that a DJ I know in New York did at the Black Flamingo, a club run by one of NY's finest duos, Soul Clap. I was essentially given free reign and worked with a color palette that I'd been wanting to try, loosely based on the Gekkaikan sake label colors. Experimenting with different lettering styles is something I really enjoy doing on posters that are all or mostly hand-drawn, so I had fun creating the artist names and the subsequent color sequences for each letterform. While not directly related to the music that was going to be played at this event, I felt that the image of some space salamander with a keyboard off on some colorful planet captured a slightly left-of-center, yet funky vibe indicative of the organizers style. All of the DJs liked the design and I was happy to see others on Instagram commenting on the level of quality I delivered.
