Temple University Japan

Ian Lynam Design provided interior design, identity, wayfinding, and signage consulting and design for the new campus for Temple University Japan, an institution where I have taught for over a decade.

Every aspect of the graphic appearance of the new building was considered, from expanses of color to wayfinding to typography.

Temple University Japan’s new location in Sangenjaya is a delightful shift westward in Tokyo, with the new neighborhood’s vibrant and youthful surroundings mirroring the culture and legacy of TUJ.

TUJ’s connection to Temple University in Philadelphia is paramount in regard to the visual identity and the interior and exterior design of the new campus.

TUJ alumnx Van Ha “Noah” Nguyen’s mural for The Parliament, TUJ’s Student Lounge was faithfully reprinted and installed in the new campus.

It is a new era for Temple University Japan and one that I am happy to be a part of. Come visit us in Sangenjaya!

Very nice work, Ian! And great to hear Temple is expanding to my old stomping ground!
