I'd love to join, or help set up a blogging mastermind group here in Tokyo. I realise there are a few blogging meetups here, but they seem to be focussed on affiliate marketing and other interests.

My idea is a small group to discuss blogs as part of a creative career, maybe blogging as way to share your work or process, blogging as part of teaching, blogging as a startup, blogging as a way to stand out as a freelancer.

I'd love to hear if anyone is interested in something like this.

I'm quite interested in this as well, let's get together and get it started!

It feels like there is interest but maybe not enough to get this off the ground.

I am currently working to relaunch my site in the next three months, so I will share what I've learnt and maybe link to it here. Perhaps that will help others.

There's been a bit of a fuck-up on the venue. It seems that the illustrator meet-up is on the same day and they have priority over us. So we have to meet at a different location. Hey guys, I just wanted to jump in and apologise for the location issue. We had originally been told that any Canvas events were allowed to happen on Mondays at Wow Cafe, but they recently informed us that their boss was only intending it to be limited to illustration meetups.

We weren't expecting this, and unfortunately don't have a backup place yet. We'd offer our office in an instant, but I'm afraid we already have another tech meetup happening here on that evening.

We're trying our best to come up with a sustainable and reliable way to support this kind of thing, but we clearly have more work to do and very limited resources. Sorry.

What is our status then? Are we going to meet? I'm still available on Monday, though we'd probably need to a agree something before the close of today for it to happen.

It was great to finally meetup and thank you Martin for the inspiration and organising a location and nice table to sit and chat. I hope we can do something regular (right now, oddly enough, the 3rd week of every month for the rest of the year is free).

I was wondering if, instead of calling ourselves a blogging group, we might use the phrase "content creation," which isn't a personal favourite, but is a popular way to describe people who make original creative work shared via social platforms, so it covers blogging, video, social media storytelling, etc.

I throughly enjoyed the evening also. Thank you everyone, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Great evening indeed. I'll try again to organise the next event as a Canvas event. Although I won't be able to host it this month as I won't be in Japan. I like the Content Creation naming better than blogging group.

Yeah, let's meet up next month sometime and bring some recent work that we have done or are working on and get other people's ideas on it.

It would be nice if we could meet in a quieter place so we can hear each other better and maybe have a round table seating as well. Also, if everyone will bring some of their work to show that would be good as well, either in print or on a tablet or somewhere so we can get a better idea of what everyone does or is planning to do in the future!

We can do this at my office, we have space and a screen onto which we can show work.
