Want to lead our team of awesome trailblazing writers, helping integrate the tried and true principles of storytelling into our transmedia stories?

We’re looking for someone with experience creating episodic content, and running writers’ rooms. Who’ll be able to work with our Managing Editor and existing writers to learn our style, while bringing their own into the mix.

Someone who appreciates the creative process, but is also ready to give blunt feedback when something’s just not working. Who can ensure that every episode builds through a well-conceived plot arc, while also remaining open to ongoing reader feedback.

What You’ll Achieve:

• Working closely with lead writers throughout our writing process of: story proposal-> image outline -> final draft
• Providing weekly feedback and notes on stories, in addition to getting in deeper when a story calls for it
• Onboarding new writers and teaching them the 555 writing process
• Documenting the do’s and dont’s of 555 stories
• Evolving and experimenting with 555 story structures and story templates
• There may be the chance for you to also lead a story personally, although this would come as a secondary role

Some Skills and Toolset We Hope You’ll Have:

• History in editing and collaborative writing
• Experience running or participating in a writers’ room

• Experience working with episodic arcs and ongoing worlds

Nice to Haves:

• Have experience working on long-term commercial projects with an entirely remote team
• Knowledge of Notion or another project management software
• Past teaching or management experience

TL;DR

We need editors who are going to learn our style of transmedia storytelling, while also applying the tried and true frameworks of the industry. Someone who’s consistently able to take a step back and ask “Why should the reader care?”
