Mystical Miles

New work for issue 1 of Mystical Miles, a new magazine from the Netherlands exploring running's many guises. In search of untold stories and beautiful photography from around the world.

I spent the day with Léonie van den Haak, an ultra-runner from Amsterdam now living in Tokyo. Her story explores the relationship between kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery and her life as a runner. Last year she completed the 1140km Shikoku Junrei in the fastest known time and finished 8th in the 246km Spartathlon.
