Kitchen Nippon Cooking Classes

Kitchen Nippon offers home-style Japanese cooking classes to food lovers in Tokyo.

I was asked by the owners to design their new visual identity. Through various exercises together with them and their students, we agreed that the keywords that qualify Kitchen Nippon best were: home made, fun and social, easy and casual. Another requirement was that the visual identity also needed to have a strong Japanese feel to it.

We felt that the playful logo does showcase their home-style cooking and the fun of cooking and eating together. The colours of the logo and website as well as the triangles used in headers and stationery bring the Japanese feel to the visual identity. The Autumn fest handouts were printed in black on yellow and orange coloured paper to give it the strong seasonal feel that is so dear to Japanese people.
