Celebrate Iwate

Celebrate Iwate

A celebration of Iwate!
The Hayabusa Tohoku Shinkansen, taiko dancers of the Morioka Sansa festival, Mt. Iwate, the beautiful seasons, and decorative manhole covers. Takizawa's cover depicts the Chagu-chagu Horse Parade Festival.

Watercolor and Ink on Paper.

This image was personally commissioned by a friend to remind her of what she loved about living in Japan and specifically, Iwate.
As I, too, spent three years living in Iwate, this was a fun personal project.
