About me

Jeremy Rubier is an experienced director, cinematographer, and editor who shot projects in more than 14 countries. Embodying the definition of a “Third Culture Kid,” Jeremy was born in Paris, and then moved to Montreal, Canada when he was 15 years old. He then lived in Tokyo, followed by New York, Shanghai, and Hong-Kong. Jeremy graduated from the prestigious Mel Hoppenheim school of Cinema in Montreal in 2011, and has logged over 10 years traveling the world as director and videographer. His first major short film, titled “The Interview,” won him Best Director at Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal. His most recent documentary, named “Third Culture Kids,” was a finalist at the Fusion Doc Challenge and was selected at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival. Jeremy has toured and done videos for artists ranging from mainstream acts including Skrillex, Avici, WMC, and Osheaga to more underground acts such as Maya Jane Coles and Maceo Plex. He has also directed commercials for companies such as Robert Deniro’s NOBU, the EF school, Porsche, Verboten, and more. Recently, he has been traveling world-wide while directing music videos for up-and-coming artist such as Young Paris from New York and Unda from Bangkok. Jeremy is 28 years old and lives in Tokyo. He is currently shooting on a monthly based for PoweredbyTokyo and on the developmment of his first feature movie.
