Japan's Hidden Listening Bars: SHeLTeR | Resident Advisor

17 July 2019 ● 1 min read ● 0 images

This was an interesting feature to work on for Resident Advisor and Asahi. I've always loved discovering Japan's favourite musical hideouts, and so it was exciting to go to a new one to direct this film. It was my first time working as a director but not doing the camera at the same time, so that was an interesting experience for me. Fortunately I had worked with DP James Latimer a couple of times recently. We have a good workflow, and everyone else in the team brought good vibes and a wealth of experience, which made my job easier.

Details:

Yoshio Nojima has been refining the soundsystem at SHeLTeR, an audiophile venue on the quiet outskirts of Tokyo, for 30 years. It's a never-ending quest in the pursuit of one humble goal: to share special musical experiences with friends.
