Yamabushi

28 March 2018 ● less than 1 min read ● 1 image

Illustration done a while back for the December issue of the magazine In Touch.

The article illustrated described the experience the writer had when she walked the pilgrimage of the three mountains of Dewa, in Japan. This pilgrimage is part of the Yamabushi practices, which are monks who follow the Shugendō doctrine and believe that by immersing yourself in nature, you can find enlightenment.

In the illustration I aimed to visualize the process, which pilgrims might experience, of being connected and part of nature.
