Ode to Zaha Hadid

Ode to Zaha Hadid

I've been wanting to draw something based on Zaha Hadid's work and happened to see a NYTimes story about seven of her iconic buildings. I ended up using five photos from the article to make layers of lines directly representing her work. I then added layers of colour from Zaha Hadid's colour palettes, only using her favourite black for the lines, although there are many shades of grey. After the lines and colours were in place, I adjusted and readjusted the layers and colour densities on the ten layers to make the most of the interaction of lines and colours.
