We’re an online shop that specializes in sharing Japan with the world through candy, toys, and more. We’re a small but rapidly growing team, and we’re looking for a full-time graphic designer with a positive attitude and the skills to help our team grow.
What you’ll do:
- Design effective emails to advertise & sell a new list of items for each month
- Create monthly booklets using InDesign to help customers enjoy the products
- Build mobile focused, image-based web pages for promotions & work with our developer to build and launch on our website
- Report on a weekly basis to the lead Graphic Designer
- Coordinate & collaborate with Marketing & Social Media teams on design projects
- Assist with photography for products and marketing campaigns
- Assist the team in managing other day-to-day office operations as needed
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of direct graphic design experience
- Graduated with a degree in design
- Have a graphic design portfolio highlighting at least 3 projects that showcase your expertise
- Knowledge of current design trends
- Able to work from our office in Shinjuku 40 hours per week
- Willing to learn & adapt to the workflow of the company
- Expert experience with Adobe Creative Cloud apps: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Excited to take charge of projects from conceptualization to completion
- Basic knowledge of photography, video, and editing
- Savvy with social media platforms and how they work
- Illustration and animation skills are a plus!
- Knowledge of Japanese culture, language are another plus!

Design is a huge cog in the machine that is our online store. So if you are down with the start-up life, keen on new challenges everyday, are excited and enthusiastic about working alongside our design team, live and breathe social media and the Internet and have the skills in design, then we’re looking for you.
We also have free snacks, coffee and tea in the office, do weekly catered lunches, and don’t work weekends (office is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm).
Salary: 3,000,000 - 4,000,000 year depending on skill set and experience, and up to 20,000 yen monthly travel reimbursement
Office operations - Our office operates 9am-6pm, so the ideal candidate would be available during those times. NOTE: actual scheduled working hours will depend on the forecasted need of assistance. Office is closed during weekends and national holidays
