Originally from the UK I manage my own travel website full of destination guides and itineraries based on my travels to locations all over the world. A Visit to Gunkanjima

In December I visited Hashima, the deserted island off the coast of Nagasaki more commonly known as Gunkanjima, or Battleship Island.
Once the most densely populated place on earth, Hashima has been empty since the coal mines that sit beneath the island closed in 1974.
