Hi Canvas creatives!

I'd love to invite all my fellow creatives to come join a dialogue through our art exhibit at UltraSuperNew Gallery in Harajuku starting March 1st.

This art exhibition is hosted in sync with International Women's Day (March 8th) . While the artwork is mainly female related, we also plan for the space to be a place where all female artists can come and talk, share their experiences as an artist in Japan. There will be seminars, panel discussions, workshops, parties in the gallery throughout the exhibition period, and most of these events will be provided for free!

All genders are of course welcomed, and we ask our male creatives to come be part of this exhibition / dialogue as well. We specifically have a "Men Support Women Day" at the gallery with prominent speakers who are advocates for diversity and gender equity in Japan.

These free events will be announced on the FB event page soon, but I am sharing some of the information on Canvas first:

3/4 Women In The Arts Day
17:00 ~ 22:00
Monami Tsukada, contemporary art specialist from SBI Art Auction, will speak about female artists in the Japanese contemporary art scene with historical data. This will address some of the cultural challenges as women in the art scene in Japan, and will follow by a QA session.
WAAT (Women Arts Association Tokyo) will host an Art Salon for artists to come mingle and network. A cash bar will be open within the gallery.

3/12 Men Support Women Day
14:00 - 16:00
Presented by Lean In Tokyo we have invited prominent men that are making a difference for women in Japan to facilitate a discussion about how men can be part of supporting women. We have Sachin Shah (Met Life CEO) , Sho Yamashita (Australian Embassy) , and Simon Gealy (PwC Partner & Financial Services Industry Leader). Please come early for this event as we anticipate a large audience turn out.

Hope you can come and enjoy the interactive art exhibition!
