Hello,

Rode microphones will be launching their annual short film competition soon and I failed to produce something for it last year and would like to do something for this year.
I'm looking for a couple of people to help with shooting and editing the 3 minute long short film and this should take maybe 1-2 weeks of filming, maybe 2-3 days a week and then another couple of days for editing.
We will be able to send the film to the competition and if we win any of the prizes given out then we will split them, they have more than 10 categories each with different prizes and recognitions.
So, if you are into shooting video or short films, or an editor with some experience under your belt and want to collaborate your skills on a short indie project send me a message.
I would like to do planning for it this month and shoot it in March-April and also get it edited in April or May since the competition deadline is usually June.

You can check out more info about this competition here: https://www.rode.com/myrodereel
Thanks and hope to hear back from you soon!

Cool! I didn't know that Rode did competitions like this!

I'd love to join, but I don't think I'd have the time unfortunately.

Out of interest, do you have a storyline/content planned already?

Yeah, they've been doing it for the last 3-4 years but I only found out about it last year. I had an idea of a plot for the film but since it's only 3 minutes then the visuals have to be appealing, maybe more than the storyline.

I will be working on tightening up the story and doing a storyboard this month as well.

Thanks!

Hi George,

I entered this last year in the documentary section, but would be interested in doing something! You can take a look here if you're interested:

However 1-2 weeks of filming sounds like quite a lot for a 3 minute short! I would say a 10/15 minute short can usually be done in 2 days with the right amount of planning.

I'd be interested in getting involved if the story is right, feel free to take a look at my other work and if you're interested perhaps send me an email? hello@samkingfilm.com

Thanks!

Sam

Hey George, it sounds fun.
Sam is right, I don't think 2 weeks is fit for this kind of work, 3 days max is good. I would love to read your script and send feedbacks if you need.
Let me know!
