Hello, Everyone!

You are probably wondering what is a "MASTERCLASS" and the answer is simple. 

It is a workshop that is created specifically to teach you all the basics of portrait photography, along with a couple of exercises and a photo critique all in one day! 

I will explain to you what the differences between lenses are and how to choose and buy the best portrait lens for yourself.

After that, I will explain how to take amazing portrait shots and we will do a couple of exercises together using daylight and a reflector so you can understand that perfectly.

Next, I will show you some of my portrait/headshots/fashion photos and explain why I have taken those photos and also tips and techniques for taking similar photos.

Last but not least I will give you advice on your own photos on what you should do to improve your photography skills.

You need to bring:

1. Camera + lens (you can bring 2 or more if you have them)
2. One or two photos that you have taken and you want advice on them
3. An amazing attitude and willingness to learn and take your photography to new levels

After I go through everyone's photos and explain how to improve them we will vote on the best photo and the winner will get a  80 cm 5-1 portable reflector. (value 3,000 yen)

This workshop will run for 4 hours with a 20-minute break in between the first part and second part so it is an extensive learning and fun experience. 

I will provide drinks for everyone, and you can bring your own snacks/food if you want to eat during the break. There is a LAWSON about a 1 min walk from the building so you can buy some food there and bring it with you.

The cost for this 4-hour extensive learning and practical workshop is 4,000 yen per person. The cost is to cover the room fee, drinks, handouts, prize, and my time. 

My birthday is in April so I am offering everyone a discount on the workshop, normally it would be 5,000 yen but this month only it is 4,000 yen per person. 

Each person will receive a:

1. A 16-page FULL COLOR  brochure covering how to take amazing portrait photos, various techniques, and angles. 
2. You will receive advice on the 1-2 photos that you will bring for a critique session. (bring 1-2 photos in .jpg format on an SD card or USB drive)
3. Non-alcoholic drinks
4. One lens cleaning cloth
5. Be entered to win the 80 cm 5-in-1 portable reflector (prize will be given out if a minimum of 5 people attend the workshop)

This is the schedule:

11:00 AM - Meet and introductions, collect payment and give out the brochure, lens cleaning cloth, and everyone can go get a drink and settle in.

11:20 AM - Explain the differences between lenses and how to choose the best portrait lens for your next purchase or your first purchase. 

12:00 PM - Explain how to take portraits using daylight and a reflector and do a couple of exercises individually to get used to taking portraits.

1:00 PM - 1:20 PM - Lunch break (you can eat a snack, or head out to the nearby Lawson to buy something to eat)

1:20 PM - Show some of my photos which include, portraits, fashion, and events and explain why and how I took the photos that I took.

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Give advice on 1-2 photos from each workshop member on how they can improve that specific photo and their photography skills. 

3:00 PM - Choose the winner for the 5-in-1 portable reflector and clean up the area.
