Zaiko’s Marketing Team is looking for an experienced Community Manager to help us build out, manage and grow our community engagement channels like Discord.

This new role will allow you to own and jumpstart both consumer and client community engagement channels, which have been identified as key growth opportunities for Zaiko.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and collaborating closely with Consumer Marketing, Client Marketing, Product, Sales, Sales Ops, and others, you will own day-to-day activities of creating value for subscription members.

As Zaiko’s Community Manager, you would be responsible for building an active community from the ground up. This exciting role will allow you to engage with music artists, idols, comedians, fans, e-sports players, v-tubers, and other key industry professionals on a global scale.

You’ll work cross-functionally with teams and grow your own team as engagement scales.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Evaluate strategic community engagement / social messaging channels that Zaiko can leverage
  • Identify the best ways of engaging creator and fan segments to create meaningful value
  • Contribute to the strategy of how we can better engage with our most avid fans and creators
  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to come up with the best content to share, campaigns, sub-channels, cadences, community partnership ideas, and more
  • Develop a deep understanding of Zaiko’s entertainment platform ecosystem and products in order to position community engagement effectively
  • Advocate Zaiko’s company values
  • Plan and execute relevant online events for segments in the server(s)
  • Surface notable posts, stories, and trends to the wider organization in the form of a slide added to a monthly department update
  • Monitor server analytics to help inform where to optimize
  • Own the overall management and official Discord communication with members in the Zaiko server(s)
  • Ensure that Zaiko’s community server(s) remains a safe space, where we can showcase the latest events, creators, creator assets, products, news, tools, tips, subscriptions, campaigns, and more

What you should have…

  • Requirement: Native or N1/N2 level Japanese writer
  • 3+ years of experience managing an online community, ideally with Discord or an equivalent platform
  • Professional online event, webinar, or course management experience
  • Working understanding of forums, social messaging platforms, and subscription services
  • Experience creating delightful experiences online
  • Work both independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated, have organizational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and initiative, while also working collaboratively as a part of a cross-functional team
  • Previous experience working with a marketing team
  • Passionate about customer-centric approaches, going the extra mile to understand customers
  • Knowledgeable in data relevant to operating online communities at scale
  • Understanding of Discord or other social messaging platforms and their mission to create a sense of belonging (customer value)
  • Familiar with the challenges that come from managing a large, public community space with passionate members


  • Experience with the creator (artist, idol, v-tuber, e-sports, comedian, etc.) and/or fan vertical
  • Building or managing a community of 10k+ members
  • Bilingual candidates who speak English
  • Experience working with a startup
