About me

I am Yusuke Kuriki, a Tokyo-based painter and mixed media artist with a half-Korean heritage. Growing up in Tokyo’s international community has deeply influenced my artistic journey.

My work is shaped by the balance of abstraction and realism found in contemporary artists such as Colleen Barry, Ida Yukimasa, and George Rouault. I also draw inspiration from the vibrant narratives and colors of Dean Fox, Salmon Toor, Tomo Campbell, and Emma Webster.

From my Tokyo studio, I explore themes of self-identity and self-understanding, continually seeking new ways to express my perspective.

We all wear a veil, a mask woven from fashion, beliefs, and societal expectations. This veil serves a double purpose: it expresses who we... continue reading (0, 1 image)
