I am Nikitaa Sivaakumar, a product+curriculum designer and engineer with 4+ years of experience designing immersive educational experience for young learners. I have designed a whole range of interactive large scale exhibits for the Innovation Carnival at the Nehru Planetarium Mumbai attended by over 8000 school students. I have created
a design thinking problem-solving STEAM curriculum for a cohort of 200 chosen underprivileged children in Mumbai, in partnership with JP Morgan and Agastya Foundation. Apart from this, I have illustrated children’s story books, designed and developed learning subscription boxes for hands-on learning, created DIY solar lamp workshops for children. I am a Civil engineering Bachelors graduate from National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli and a Product design Masters graduate from the University of California Davis. I am the recipient of multiple awards for my work like Big Ideas UC Berkeley Award, Blum PASS grant from UC Davis, SELCO Innovator in Residence Fellowship, OPJEMS Scholarship and DAAD scholarship.
