About me

Photographer and essayist based in Saitama City. My philosophy in life is that everything is interesting, and when we find the world lacking, that's on us. I believe we should slow down, pay attention, and if we see the majority of people going one way, we must consider going the other way.

Permanently based in Japan. Little by little, I am trying to transition back to full time creative work.

My Creations

  5. Last year I spent a weekend on Mt Mitake and had a very special experience made possible by what one might normally think of as bad weather. After a creative dry spell, I have finally come back to finish that body of work, and have written an essay about the... continue reading (0, 1 image)

  6. My New Portraiture Site

    9 September 2020

After a long time, I finally finished my new portraiture website. I've been making photographs for a long time, and building sites for quite a while, too, but tend to shy away from actually marketing myself. Because of this, I had a lot of internal resistance in making this site.

  7. 2021 Blogging Project: Somewhere in Japan

Starting January 1 of this year, I began posting a new short essay with an accompanying photograph every Tuesday and Friday. The posts are short and have some thematic...
