Rise Up, graphite on paper. Created for the Beijing Exhibition, Birth of a Nation, curated by Fion Gunn and Niamh Cunningham, in honor of the anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland. The image represents the fight against oppression and suffering which happens world wide, as well as the fight against oppressive internal thoughts within an individual.
