Gold leaf window signs

28 December 2020 ● less than 1 min read ● 2 images

2 reverse (painted from the inside) signs hand-painted and gilded close to Shinsen station for a new restaurant. I started by painting the letters on both windows. The next day I put down 3 layers of 23K gold before backing up the gold with black paint. Last day was spent cleaning off the excess gold and trimming the lettering where it was needed.

I love the retro European feel of this...very inviting, especially in the cold of winter.

Very nice. Quite a skill you have!
