Hinoki Butcher's blocks

Small batch of two End-grain* chopping boards made of Japan's favourite wood, j.Cypress (檜 hinoki) with Walnut inlays and finished with beeswax.

* End-grain, the grain of the wood is upward which means the board has to be made of small blocks. This is the proper way to make a chopping board. You will not cut the fibres of the wood, therefore it will self-heal when in contact with water, also it is not seal so it will breathe and move naturally adding flavour (chefs said) and emitting fragrance.

Very nice. I have a similar handmade chopping board from my Father-in-law, although it's made of strips of wood instead of blocks. Are you selling these?

Thanks Ian!
I have a woodwork shop where I make custom furniture, but recently started prototyping and sampling wooden products to collaborate whit others on sales by making limited editions. Of course I can take direct orders on anything really or I can set up a workshop for you to make it ; ).
