Hokkaido isn’t often the first place people think of when travelling to Japan. This editorial photo essay takes a step away from the city and documents a trip to the lesser known Northern Island. Seeking out the autumn colour in the unique natural landscape, I aim to explore my own personal relationship with Japan and the island
