Danner Light 40th Anniversary

29 November 2019 ● 1 min read ● 7 images

In a continuing series of work for Danner boots in Portland, celebrating 40 years since the introduction of their groundbreaking 'Danner Light' and the invention of the Gore-Tex boot in 1979 by their lead designer Guillaume 'Willie' Sacre.

I explored Danner's archives in Portland dating back to 1932 to create an anniversary book that looked back on the history of Danner and the Danner Light. Using original writing by Bill Danner (much of it still relevant today), old letters, notes and illustrations together with vintage photography and other ephemera.

The publication was bound with red cotton stitching.
