Suginami-ku Acrylic Keychain

Typically lower tier hotels in Japan used this style of giant acrylic key rings for their room keys. The closest American comparison I can think of is motels. What jumps to mind for the more perverse of us are "love hotels"; hotels that can be rented by the hour. Ridiculous fonts and faux-French names are par for the course. This one reads:

ホテル スギナミ(杉並区) 好き好き!

Hotel Lovey Dovey Suginami! (Approx)

I wanted a keyring to embarrass my university-aged nephew when he comes to stay for the weekend. I made a few extras at the same time. Green acrylic with gold etched lettering, and upgraded hardware for the top. I love Suginami-ku.
