Tokyo Bay Sunset

6 April 2018 ● 1 min read ● 1 image

This is a watercolor illustration for the inside cover of zine "hajime", a collaborative project I did with seven non-Tokyo-native artists. Each participant have created four-page artworks on the theme "first impressions of Tokyo."

During my first year here - and my first visit to Odaiba - I saw a beautiful sunset while walking along the road and chasing the big Ferris wheel. I wanted to depict the lightness of the experience in watercolor after drawing it as one of the panels of my four-page comic for "hajime".

Also, Erica Ward made a gorgeous illustration for the outside cover you can check here!

Come to our release party on Saturday, April 14th (18:00~22:00), with original artwork from the zine on display (including this one) and copies of the book for purchase!
