Tuesday, adj.

+This was my two-man exhibition with Inoue Taku over the new year, last year. We will be having another show at the same place this December 29th-Jan 2nd at Fotori. With Tuesday, adj. we told a story of an ordinary winter Tuesday for an office worker: myself through seven ikebana pieces narrating the story through composition, color, and concept, Taku then expressively photographed these six ikebana arrangements on the spot, and then we shot a short film putting the visitor into these six moments described in the story. It is with this the word Tuesday that we reduced it to an adjective used to describe the small ordinary moments we miss everyday in our routines. At the time I was inspired by Beethoven's 6th symphony that was the first attempt to tell a story sonically before the literary symphonies of Berlioz and Liszt and was curious if i could do the same through ikebana...as it is difficult to do so many arrangements under the Sogetsu system, so I tired doing this outside of it (not using the name of course)...and think in person it worked to an extent. Friday, noun will be next…
