Hip Hop Samurai

Hip Hop Samurai

For me it's a bit difficult to explain where my ideas come from. It mostly happens naturally.

I am doing something and I am having this flash like, ‘Hey, I want to do a quirky street/pop samurai’. It just pops up in my mind.

Now if I analyze deeply where the idea comes from, I am sure there's a sort of unconscious process, like I was listening hip hop music this day and saw something related to Japanese history...

After that, I had the idea to create a series of warriors from different cultures with a similar treatment. Gladiator, Viking, Aztec, etc...

The illustration is made on Photoshop, mostly using the pen tool, and a mouse, nothing really fancy, pretty old school actually.
