'The Tokyoiter' Cover

My contribution to The Tokyoiter project (http://www.thetokyoiter.com). Illustrators living in Tokyo are creating covers that interpret this great city in their own unique way. I wrote a short blurb explaining my concept:

'Based on my experience in Tokyo so far, there seem to be common values that link Japanese people to one another. When riding the subway day-to-day, you can see individuals who appear eager to stand-out from the masses, and others who appear happy to fit-in. Underneath a Japanese person’s chosen appearance or attitude, I’m curious to know how strong the common cultural links remain between them. Are they curious to know too?'
