PechaKucha Pow Wow 2015

Back in March 2015, 31 big-hearted creatives running PechaKucha Nights in 17 cities all over the world gathered in Tokyo, Japan to discuss where PechaKucha has been, where we are, and where we're going.

Getting our City Organisers excited about the prospect of Tokyo was no big deal - who doesn't want to come to Tokyo? - but getting people on planes, through the visa procedures of their respective countries, and into comfortable places to stay is another challenge entirely.

Throughout this experience, we worked with the Chinese, Egyptian, and Yemeni Embassies to get specific Organisers out. Forming a partnership with Airbnb to provide accommodations for our visitors was definitley a big selling point here.

The 3-day event itself was a whirlwind of dinners, introductions, workshops, karaoke, and brainstorming sessions at the Andaz, SuperDeluxe, Shibaura House, Gonpachi, and Shinjuku Gyoen.

Coordination Tools: Typeform, Trello, Mailchimp, Facebook Groups, and Google Docs, oh and yeah good ol' fashioned email.
